Arsenal close in on ‘new David Villa’
Arsenal have opened talks with Sporting Gijon for impressive young striker Carlos Castro, according to reports from The Metro. The 19-year-old currently plies his trade in the second tier of Spanish football, but that hasn’t stopped him from gaining attention in recent times. Castro is currently a part of Gijon’s promotion hopeful squad, and his fledgling performances have drawn comparisons with those of a young David Villa – who now plays for New York City FC after winning the La Liga title with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as well as the World Cup with his nation.
