Borussia Dortmund confirm Mats Hummels has asked to leave
GETTY ASKED TO LEAVE: Mats Hummels wants to return to Bayern Munich The Dortmund captain's future has been subject to intense speculation in recent months and he admitted last week that he was losing sleep over a decision. His contract at the Westfalenstadion runs until the end of next season but Dortmund have announced Hummels has asked to leave to make a return to Bayern Munich. They state that Bayern are yet to make an offer for the 27-year-old and that the World Cup winner does not have a release clause but they are prepared to grant him his wish should they receive a suitable offer.
