Arsenal chasing Serie A defender ahead of January window
Arsenal have had scouts watching Genoa defender Armando Izzo as Arsene Wenger gears up for the January transfer window, report the Metro. The Gunners chief has commissioned representatives to run the rule over the 23-year old, with reports in Italy suggesting they watched him during the Serie A tie with Napoli. Izzo spent the majority of his early career in the lower leagues of domestic Italian football, but has impressed since moving to Genoa last year. If reports are to be believed, Emirates scouts watched him help deny the likes of Gonzalo Higuain in a 0-0 stalemate earlier this month.
