Mertesacker hails ‘great goalkeeper' and attacking combos
Per Mertesacker has hailed the performance of Petr Cech after the Arsenal goalkeeper's saves helped Arsenal keep a clean sheet and win three points yesterday. Although the goals of Alexis and the Gunners attacking performance caught the eye, the BFG was keen to dish our praise to the 33 year old who made some excellent saves to deny United at crucial times. 'We gave them two or three chances,' he said, 'but we have a great goalkeeper as well and he did well also, so defensively I think we can build on that.' Mertesacker was also effusive about the way Arsenal's forward line clicked on the day, with two goals from Alexis, a goal and an assist for Mesut Ozil, and an assist from Theo Walcott....
