Per Mertesacker: 'Confidence high in Arsenal camp'
Per Mertesacker has admitted that Arsenal will head into the new Premier League season on a real high following their Community Shield triumph. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the only goal of the game to help the Gunners overcome Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley this afternoon. Arsenal were without star forward Alexis Sanchez due to his recent Copa America exploits, but Mertesacker believes that the presence of summer signing Petr Cech will prove to be just as valuable.
