William Saliba is back in the headlines after doubling down on his criticism of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. The 19-year-old was signed by the Gunners when Unai Emery was in charge, before being immediately loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the duration of the 2019/20 campaign. However, a combination of injuries and the coronavirus pandemic forcing Ligue 1 to prematurely end, meant Saliba failed to have the transition period that Arsenal bosses were looking for. Arteta claimed the Frenchman wasn't ready to contribute to the first-team picture, opting to leave him out of his Europa League squad and failing to offer him an opportunity in the senior team.
